TVET Promotion Campaign for People with Disabilities in Bhutan

#ReimagineDisabilityBhutan - #InclusiveTVETBhutan - #InclusiveEducationBhutan

About the Campaign

Have you heard of TVET?

The Technical Education and Vocational Training schools across Bhutan help young people to learn and develop work-related skills knowledge and skills. This can lead to a job or self-employment, improved livelihood and a chance at a new life.

And as Bhutan is on the path to change, TVET is also changing!

There is a project underway called BEST, which stands for Bhutan Education and Skills Training. It’s a partnership between Bhutan and Canada. The goal of the project is to attract more young people to choose TVET education, to introduce new programs and skills that industries are demanding, and to ensure all students gain employment when they graduate.
And yes...this includes young people with disabilities!

This TVET Promotion Campaign is one of several activities in the BEST Project that brings attention to people living with disabilities in Bhutan.

We see you!

We know that having a disability means being excluded from education, poorer health, fewer employment opportunities, and higher rates of poverty. But we also know that people with disabilities have so many strengths and so much potential and so much to offer society. Once we remove the barriers blocking the way. Education is a basic human right. All young people, including those with disabilities, have a right to education. The TVET schools in Bhutan are realizing this right and are working to become more inclusive and welcoming for youth with disabilities.

It’s time to #ReimagineDisabilityBhutan
It’s time to build #InclusiveEducationBhutan
It’s time for #InclusiveTVETBhutan
